Science Media Centre Internship

Who: Science Media Centre

What: The Science Media Centre (SMC) is an independent press office for science, which works on some of the most controversial topics around. We have a very popular internship programme and applications are now open for internships from October 2020 – June 2021. Many of our interns have gone on to work in science press or media.
We’re a small team of eight and our interns provide invaluable support and get to see everything that we work on and do. The internship mainly involves research and administrative tasks and is most suitable for final-year undergrads, postgrad students or those looking for a career change. We have interns with us all year, with each working for four weeks.
Please note that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our internships are currently being held virtually. The pay rate and hours are the same and the role profile is very similar. We aren’t yet aware when we’ll be able to return to our office in central London, but we’d expect that when this happens, our interns would be joining us in the office again. Applicants for the currently advertised dates should consider this before applying.

Where: Remote/London

When: Deadline is 09:00 a.m. on Monday 21st September 2020

How much: £10.55/hour, 35 hour week (£1477 on a four weeks month)
